WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK
Junior football operates solely through the efforts of volunteers from every team. When registering your child, you are confirming your commitment to volunteer with your team’s game day roles. All member families are required to assist with game day roles, and all game day roles require a valid Working With Children Check qualification as per SMJFL policy in light of Child Safe Standards and in accordance with the OYCFC By-Laws. We require at least one parent/guardian to hold a valid WWCC prior to the commencement of the season. Applications can be made on-line via: http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au
Please note there are no WWCC exemptions for Police or VIT in line with SMJFL policies.
Any player wishing to transfer to the Oakleigh Dragons from another club must complete the ‘SMJFL Player Club Transfer Form’ and contact Kane Leopold before registering, ph: 0400 039 412, registrarOYCFC@gmail.com. Transfers open on 1 February 2024.
New Players are those who have not played football before, including Auskick.
Registration for new players will not be finalised until the club receives proof of age for the player. This may be in the form of a copy of Birth Certificate, Passport, or Secondary School issued Student ID.
As per SMJFL By-Laws a player must be a minimum of 7 years of age as at 30th April in the calendar year of their first season to be eligible to be registered with the SMJFL.
PLAYERS MUST REGISTER TO ENSURE THEY ARE COVERED BY INSURANCE DURING PRE-SEASON TRAINING
